# About SurgeonsList

Canonical: https://surgeonslist.com/about/

SurgeonsList is an independent directory of surgeons in the United States, run by SurgeonsList. It is not affiliated with any hospital, medical board or professional society.

## Where the details come from

Basic listings are built from public sources and from form submissions. Each listing names its source and the date its details were last updated. No ratings, reviews or referral fees.

## Free listings

Every listing is free and built from public sources or submissions. A paid Verified option is coming soon. Before a listing is labelled Verified, we check the surgeon's board certification with the certifying board (through ABMS Certification Matters or the specialty board) and their active license with the state medical board, and the owner confirms the details. Verified will never be a rating, and paying will never change the facts we publish.
